Delicious Decals

I LOVE wall decals!  In fact I'm kinda obsessed with them!  If I could I would have them all over my house but you know, the 'less is more' design rule always wins in the end!  Plus husby would probably go a bit mental if I put any more up!

I've been able to get away with 3 in the house. Two in the kids play room and one in Bubba R's room.  They are an inexpensive and non permanent way of adding some fun and personality to your home.

This one is in Bubba R's room and I love how it looks.  I spent forever deciding which design to choose for his room as I'm not a cutesy kinda mumma and don't really do teddy bears or farm animals, but still wanted something child like.  Each morning we count how many birds there are and make up stories about what they might be nattering about!  (Well I make up the stories and BR just listens!!!).  I sourced this 'Birds on a Wire' wall decal from here


This 'House Rules' wall decal was a no brainer for me as I knew it was for us and my family as soon as I saw it and just had to find somewhere for it!  It can be purchased here and you choose what colour you want the text to be.


It takes a little bit of effort to get one of this size onto the wall but once you've lined it up correctly (detailed instructions are provided on how to do it) then it's a whizz!  Such a great result don't you think?

I actually gave birth to BR at home and the birth pool was placed (unintentionally) in front of these rules.  Needless to say, the words 'Never Give Up', 'Trust in Yourself' and 'No Whining' were rather appropriate for the task at hand!!!



Another one that I absolutely adore is in the kids playroom and I sourced it from here.  The wire I've hung the artwork on is actually curtain wire from Ikea.  I love how this turned out and everyone that see's it always comments on how great it looks.  The look of pride that Master A has on his face when I hang a new piece of his art up is just priceless.  It's such a fun, proud and tidy way to display your child's artwork.

A friend of mine has joined the decal revolution too and had this one made for her home.  I think it's really special and if I was allowed anymore, I'd love to do one like this.

Now don't get me wrong.  While I am mad for decals, I do have some very strict rules around their use.  They must be well thought out and never just randomly placed.  They've got to have purpose and above all, they have to be applied properly.  A decal with bubbles all over it is just not a good look - plain and simple!
